1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is the latest model in Ecovacs' line of robot vacuum-mop hybrids. This wet/dry model includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille. This makes it easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than traditional mops. In my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just over a second and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more precise than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms' corners and edges, as well as create a "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water before starting another clean-up job.

It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have both types of flooring and a variety of pets.

The A4s Pro is expensive however it's a great buy for people who want to to leave the house with no hands on so they can get out and do other things or perform household chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to get rid of tough dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned brand is the cheapest we've tested and provides incredible value for money. Its navigation system is basic and uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a fair job on carpets with low pile and makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for superior maneuverability. It can be positioned to a particular area and has a suite of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It can even stop and restart cleaning sessions and is perfect for homes with pets.

Its self cleaning brushroll prevents tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It has a set angled side brushes to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens, and dander.

The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with an app for smartphones that lets you change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning times ahead of time.
